Newbie with and old 5400

Hi all, I have a trusty 5400, nowt wrong with it as far as I know, and brings in all the FTA channels that are programmed into it just fine, In used to use it for the Dutch stns, but for the life of me I can't remember what I need to update channels, or open channels anymore!
I do have a couple of cams but no doubt these are well out of date, I recall once upon a time you could send them to fellow enthusiasts who could update for you, do guys still do this?
I have a Dragon (twin) Cam and Matrix revolutions, are they still any good? also a few old smart cards, but they are old XXX ones.
what do I need to do to get up and running again, as I do not have a clue now!..... must be old age :-)

hi mate. first of all upgrade your hummy to 11.4b hot firmware. insert latest pmct and bin key for humax 5400. all software and key bins are available from humax section on this site. even tools needed to download software is available here.then you can also do humax cardsharing for free from this site. come on mate, old hummy still going strong. good luck.:good::good:

Thanks for the info, I can't remember the gizmo needed to load the files, I do recall a rather fetching, errr 'busty lady' :-) appeared on the front! is it Humbox 4.1? and does the hot firmware go in first, then pmct and lastly bin key?

Cardsharing this seems a new thing to me, roughly how does it work?

well mate, first thing down load HUMAX LOADER PACK 2.3 as it is an important tool needed to install firmware,pmct and keys. it is one tool that does all for humax. then look for humax section and the first thing i would do is to install the latest updated channel list. then the hot firmware 11.4b and then recent pmct. finally latest key bin. you will be surprised at the number of new stations that are open especially if you have a motorized dish.Humax loader pack is found in humax section too. with regards to humax sharing, you can download software that makes it possible to you to see other stations that members share for free. go on and try. it is quite easy. i can do it and i am 65 years old.good luck.
